Nashville-based country star Justin Townes Earle, son of Grammy award winning American singer and songwriter Steve Earle, has announced he will return to Australian shores this October and will play a string of national dates while here for Melbourne’s Out On The Weekend festival.
While Earle himself has been a regular visiter to Australia since 2008, racking up six tours in that time, this will be the first time he performs in the country with his full band and will mark his return to Perth and Adelaide for the first time since April 2012.
The Nashville musician will showcase his new album Single Mothers, due out this September, as well as playing songs from his four previous critically acclaimed records – The Good Life, Midnight at the Movies, Harlem River Blues and Nothing’s Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now.
Supporting will be Canadian Lindi Ortega who returns to Australia for the second time in 2014 after blowing away audiences at Boogie and National Folk Festivals and sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne in April. New Zealand singer songwriter Marlon Williams will also feature on the tour.
