Last year at Eaux Claires, Justin Vernon and Aaran Desner’s (from The National) Wisconsin festival, Bon Iver debuted their new album 22, A Million in full so the 2016 festival was going to be hard to beat but they might’ve done it.
They’ve unleashed the lineup for the 2017 event and it’s massive.
Chance The Rapper, Paul Simon and Wilco are atop the lineup but there are a number of special performances that will make it truly memorable.
Firstly, Desner and Vernon will reunite as Big Red Machine, the name of the song they recorded for a compilation called Dark Was The Night back in 2009.
According to Pitchfork, they will be bringing special guests with them for the performance which is bound to be talked about.
Bon Iver will also return to the festival but with a different set. They will be performing “Bon Iver Presents John Prine and the American Songbook,” which is seemingly a tribute to the US folk singer.
On top of that, Feist will also play her first set in over a year. The Canadian artist hasn’t released an album since 2011’s Metals.
It’s a very different lineup to the other international festivals this year and perhaps that’s why it’s so eye-catching.
If it has piqued your interest, you’ll have to make your way to Wisconsin in June.
