After recently being sentenced to jail time, rapper Kanye West spent approximately 49 minutes in lock down at Hollywood’s LAPD station on Thursday 26th March, getting his mugshot taken and fingerprints recorded.
The brief period in the clink comes after West pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour battery case set against him by a photographer who he punched in an unprovoked attack at Los Angeles International Airport in July last year.
In the case, the judge sentenced Kanye to 250 hours of community service, two years probation, 24 anger management therapy sessions and this week’s quick “book and release” trip to jail – where he showed up, was processed and then immediately released.
XXL are reporting that the 36-year-old rapper entered the police station alongside his lawyer at around 4:30pm. Yeezy then walked out a free man at 5:19pm according to his police file, which you can check out below.
Kanye West announced his Australian Yeezus tour in February, with a seven-date schedule set for May 2014. A Yeezus Tour movie is also in the works. Kanye is also set to appear at Bonnaroo Music Festival later this year.
