Kelly Clarkson has performed the classic ‘I Put a Spell on You’, originally from Screamin’ Jay Hawkins but reimagined by Winifred (Better Midler) in Hocus Pocus.
The performance came during her daytime TV show. Each episode, Kelly Clarkson puts her own spin on another artist’s song — they call it Kellyoke. For the show’s Halloween special, she reenacted the famous Hocus Pocus scene.
She also took along two backup singers to play the part of Winifred’s witchy sisters: Mary (Kathy Najimy), and Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker).
Clarkson’s performance of the classic is much more of a ballad, like the original from Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Clarkson really does bring a spooky vibe to the track — along with her absolutely soaring vocal ability.
