Original American Idol Kelly Clarkson will headline the 2012 Deniliquin Ute Muster.
In a major coup for the iconic event, Clarkson will provide the evening soundtrack for the thousands of blue-singlet wearing, Bundy Rum-guzzling punters when she headlines the event’s Saturday night concert on September 29.
She’ll be joined by the likes of Lee Kernaghan, John Williamson, McAlister Kemp, The McClymonts, Daryl Braithwaite, Morgan Evans, Amber Lawrence, Jayne Denham, Travis Collins, Doug Bruce and the Tailgaters, and Bob Corbett – with more artists still to be announced.
Deniliquin Play on the Plains Festival director, John Harvie, said he was “over the moon” to have secured Clarkson for the event.
“Kelly is an amazing performer and a genuine crowd pleaser”, he said. “We’re thrilled to be welcoming her to the muster, and to Deni.”
Deni Ute Muster marketing manager, Karla Notley, says Clarkson will be an exciting addition to the muster this year:
“Kelly’s talents are broad-ranging, just like our festivalgoers. Many people love that she won Academy of Country Music Awards for Vocal Event of the Year and Single of the Year this year. Other people tap into her rock-chick or soul-sister side. We think she’s just the right performer to set the stage on fire.”
Clarkson isn’t the first Idol performer to play at the Muster – original Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian was part of last year’s lineup alongside Icehouse and Eskimo Joe.
The Deniliquin Ute Muster is on September 28 and 29 at Deniliquin Plains, NSW. Tickets are $180 for adults and $90 for children aged 13 to 17, and children under 13 are free. For more information visit www.deniutemuster.com.au.
