Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’ has elicited a lot of strong opinions.
Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler labelled it “disgusting”, while CeeLo Green was forced to apologise after sparking massive backlash for calling the song “disappointing on a personal and moral level”.
Now, Tame Impala‘s own Kevin Parker has offered some thoughts on the record-breaking, chart-topping hit, and he definitely doesn’t agree with those other dudes.
“For me, it’s the most memorable song of 2020,” KP said during his recent interview for triple j’s Like A Version.
“I just think it’s a perfect song. It feels great, the lyrics are great, the production fits. It’s so outlandish and brave.”
Trust Kev to be on the right side of history. WAP’ has been huge. There’s been TikToks, mashups, and wild remixes. The song even made ARIA chart history twice.
And to boot, it’s also high on the list of predictions to top the triple j Hottest 100 of 2020.
