If you’ve been missing the now defunct indie duo Kid Sam, wipe your tears away, ’cause one half of the group, Kieran Ryan, is doing the solo thing and taking his show on the road around Australia this August and September.
The Melburnian singer-songwriter, who’s drawn comparisons to both The Drones’ Gareth Liddiard and Sparkadia’s Alexander Burnett, has also dropped his latest single, Are You A Conspirator, taken from his self-titled debut solo record. A plethora of material was recorded for the album, then lovingly whittled down with help from musical friends like Oh Mercy’s Annabel Grigg, The Panics’ Myles Wooten, Skipping Girl Vinegar’s Kelly Lane and Sikap Sempurna’s Luke Benge.
The tour sees Ryan bring his unique blend of simple but honest melancholia to audiences in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, so start popping those dates in your diary to catch his overwhelmingly earnest charm in the flesh.
