Aussie thrash merchants King Parrot have finally announced details about their new album, which was recorded with the help of former Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo. The band’s second full-length effort Dead Set will be released on May 15th.
The album was recorded by Anselmo at his Nodferatu’s Lair studio in New Orleans and, according to a press statement, it showcases a signature King Parrot sound “with high octane grind, thrashing riffs, pummelling beats and punk rock mayhem”.
The news comes as King Parrot announce a national tour set to kick off this May and stretch into June. They’ll play most capital cities as well as a string of regional centres.
To tide fans over until the tour and the album release date, King Parrot have unveiled the new video for Like A Rat, featuring none other than Phil Anselmo himself waking up in bed next to King Parrot bassist Slatts.
