The addition of Panic! At The Disco‘s Brendon Urie to Broadway musical ‘Kinky Boots’ has proved to be a popular one with sales spiking.
Apparently audiences have been coming in droves to see Urie sexy dance in thigh-highs, giving the musical some of its best figures in a little while.
As Broadway reports, capacity has spiked by 17.5 per cent since he joined the cast on 26th May. Variety reports that in his first week in the role he pushed sales up by $315,000.
Meanwhile, Playbill has reported that the capacity of the musical has risen above 90 per cent, making over a million dollars in a week. The last time the musical did that in a non-holiday week was back in March 2016.
It seems Urie is just as excited as the audiences. He tweeted after his debut performance saying that it was, “absolutely incredible.”
He does have one slight issue though. He tweeted this week, “Please don’t leave while we’re taking our bows. It just sucks.”
Urie taking on a roll in ‘Kinky Boots’ may have been a very unexpected turn but it seems to have paid of handsomely for both the singer and the musical.
Thanks to everyone who's coming to @KinkyBootsBway but just a reminder: Please don't leave while we're taking our bows. It just sucks.
