Californian nu metal outfit Korn are gearing up for the release of their new album The Serenity Of Suffering , and it looks like they’re already thinking about who they’d like to tour the album with.
In an interview with Alternative Press, Korn co-founders Brian ‘Head’ Welch and James Shaffer reveal that they’re keen to tour with A Day To Remember and Of Mice & Men, to keep up with the ever-evolving rock music scene.
“I would love to do tours that we haven’t done with some of these younger bands like A Day To Remember, Of Mice & Men,” Welch says. “I would love to just bring the generations together.
“We keep up with everything. I think rock music is evolving, but it’s hurting in some ways too. So when some band comes out that’s exciting, everyone’s like ‘Oh what’s this!’. So we try to keep up with it like that.”
Shaffer goes on to profess his love for Bring Me The Horizon‘s latest album That’s The Spirit. “Their early stuff was so heavy, but where they’re headed is so fresh and new. I’m a big fan of that band.”
“If Bring Me The Horizon had come out 10 years ago, their album would be five times platinum,” Welch says.
The Serenity Of Suffering is due out on 21st October. Korn have already teased the possibility of Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl making a guest appearance on the record, while Slipknot’s Corey Taylor is a confirmed guest. It remains to be seen if any “younger” bands will feature on the album, though.
