Italian metal band Lacuna Coil have announced their first ever headlining Australian tour, kicking off in October this year.
Lacuna Coil have been boldly leading the way in their metal sub genre for decades. Led by the dual male/female vocals of Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, this band is all gothic imagery, down-tuned guitars and bass, and layered synths.
The tour will be in support of their eigth studio album Delirium which is due for release May 27th. This album has been under full creative control by the band, from production, concept and artwork, promising to deliver the heaviest, darkest and most entrancing music of theirs to date.
The band are planning to put on quite the show. “We’re already discussing stage clothes and stage setup for the tour. I’ve always liked the theatrical side of the show,” vocalist Christina Scabbier explained to Blabbermouth. “I think costumes are important. It’s like going to the theatre and seeing the actors without their proper clothes… it’s sort of a ritual”
This is Lacuna Coil’s first visit to Australia since Soundwave Festival back in 2009, and the band solemnely promise us that this tour will be worth the seven year wait.
