Not even a weekend has passed since Lana Del Rey released her most recent album Chemtrails Over The Country Club, but she has already announced its follow-up: Rock Candy Sweet.
Del Rey announced the album on Instagram earlier today, revealing that it’s due out on Friday, 1st June.
In addition, she revived her public disdain for her critics on her Instagram story. Posting an image of a Harper’s Bazaar article titled ‘Lana Del Rey Can’t Qualify Her Way Out of Being Accountable’, she once again drew issue with the media’s criticism of her.
“Just want to say thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse,” she wrote.
“I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record on June 1 titled Rock Candy Sweet.”
She posted a second screenshot of the article referencing LDR’s defence of her Chemtrails Over The Country Club album artwork, which the author said was unnecessary.
“You’re right it would have been unnecessary if no one had significantly criticized everything about the album to begin with,” she wrote.
“But you did. And I want revenge.”
