A tantilising batch of Laneway Festival 2015 sideshows have arrived, with east coast headline shows set for a number of exciting buzz bands who line the festival’s 2015 bill.
Modern soul collective Jungle have announced two headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, while New York noise-punks Perfect Pussy have revealed that their Australian live debut will include headline shows in the same cities.
London-raised producer SOHN will return to Australia in January for Laneway 2015, having toured the country in June 2014. The Vienna-based multi-instrumentalist, real name Christopher Taylor, released his debut album Tremors in April. New York hip hop outfit Ratking will also play headline shows while in the country for Laneway 2015, with shows lined up in Sydney and Melbourne.

Jungle
Jungle are returning to Australia in January for Laneway 2015, having risen to new heights in 2014. The band performed at Splendour In The Grass, and played sold-out sideshows amongst all the buzz. In her review of Jungle’s Sydney Splendour In The Grass sideshow for Music Feeds, Elise Cullen praised the group’s energy, saying, “Jungle’s catchy space-funk melodies made a leap from the seemingly synthetic recordings to an invigorating and explosive live performance.”
It’s amazing to think that the duo, which expands to a seven-piece in a live capacity, only played their first show in October 2013. Since then Jungle have played some of the world’s biggest festivals and released their self-titled debut album. Fans will be able to catch the band’s 70s-inspired tunes at sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney in January. Details below.

Perfect Pussy
The five-piece Perfect Pussy will take time out to play sideshows at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel and Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory when in town for Laneway 2015. One of the most hyped acts to come out of SXSW this year, the group have been praised for their volatile rock sound. Led by the harsh poetics of frontwoman Meredith Graves and backed by debut album Say Yes To Love, Perfect Pussy are sure to impress both festival and sideshow audiences alike with the non-stop punk energy.

Ratking
The talents of US trio Ratking will be on full display at Laneway 2015, with the hip hop group also set to play sideshows for fans in Sydney and Melbourne. Ratking released their debut album So It Goes earlier this year, and have played shows with the likes of GZA, King Krule and Death Grips in the past.
