Last Dinosaurs Announce 2018 East Coast Tour, Drop New Strokes-Inspired Single ‘Eleven’

Brisbane indie-rockers Last Dinosaurs have announced a sneaky 2018 Australian east coast tour, while also revealing their new Strokes-inspired singe ‘Eleven’.

The quick run of shows is off the back of their first lot of new music since 2015, when they dropped their second studio album Wellness.

The tour, taking place in early October, will kick off in the band’s hometown of Brisbane, before playing in Sydney and wrapping things up in Melbourne.

They’re playing smaller venues than what they’re used to, aiming for a more unique Last Dinosaurs live show.

“We’re so keen and ready to play our shows again,” says bassist Michael Sloane. “Kicking it off in these close-quarters venues is going to focus all that energy.”

Speaking about new single ‘Eleven’, the band’s Sean Caskey says it was largely inspired by witnessing The Strokes perform live.

“We were at Splendour In The Grass a few years ago, watching The Strokes play and I was immediately inspired,” he says.

“I went home and wrote this song on my brand-new Rickenbacker guitar, even writing my first proper guitar solo for the track, and it ended up being one of the first of a new batch of songs that informed our upcoming album.”
