In the lead-up to a new EP dropping this December, The Last Shadow Puppets have given us even more to swoon over with a faithful rendition of Leonard Cohen’s 1974 hit Is This What You Wanted?.
Set against a glossy backdrop with plenty of swagger and exposed flesh, there’s every chance The Last Shadow Puppets’ take on the song will fill you with as many strange and exciting feelings as the first time you heard the original.
The cover sits on a forthcoming EP called The Dream Synopsis, which will drop on Friday, 2nd December. It’ll be a collection of other covers from the Alex Turner-fronted outfit, including jams by The Fall, Jacques Dutronc and Glaxo Babies. It will also boast new versions of tracks Aviation and the EP’s title track.
As well as the EP, Turner is suggesting some more extensive releases in the future, most likely “trilogy or a four-part drama,” he tells NME.
