Bring Me the Horizon’s upcoming album, Sempiternal, has been leaked across the internet this evening, hot off the back of their Soundwave 2013 performances, and following tonight’s news of a girl possibly injured by a flare let off by an audience member during their Sydney Soundwave set.
The Sempiternal leak comes almost two full months before the scheduled release date, set down for Tuesday, 30th April. We’ve already heard two tracks from the album, Shadow Moses and Antivist. Even if this is not the complete package, this is far and away the biggest taste of the album we’ve heard so far.
This seems to be the real deal, folks. It seems as though BMTH have broken through the brutality of earlier records and found a more channeled, politically-charged anger along the same vein as While She Sleeps. The addition of Jordan Fish on keys and programming captures the electronic-angst that surrounds tracks like Crucify Me on the previous album and threads it throughout every element of Sempiternal.
Earlier yesterday, during an interview backstage at Soundwave 2013, Bring Me The Horizon told Music Feeds‘ Mike Hohnen that the album would not feature any guest appearances for fear of seeming too gimmicky (video below), and that certainly seems to be the case with this leak.
Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes have also been copping a little flak about their cavalier attitude towards pictures taken of a flare set off during their set at Soundwave Sydney last night, following the news that a girl had been “disfigured” by the powerful blaze. Promoter AJ Maddah has tweeted that the band “are quite concerned and pissed at the guy”. So let’s just put that to bed, eh?
