LCD Soundsystem ‘Shut up and Play the Hits’ Screening At Vivid LIVE 2012

The LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut up and Play the Hits, based around their farewell show at Madison Square Garden last year, will be screening at Vivid LIVE 2012.

The doco, which was directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, has footage from the farewell show intercut with interviews with James Murphy.

A new clip was recently released from the doco, showing footage of the song North American Scum, but more interesting – an excerpt of James Murphy talking about his age, and why he decided to call it quits.

The group broke up just over a year ago, playing a run of final shows at Madison Square Gardens. As fitting with the theme of ‘goodbye’ and the insinuation of a final performance (similar to that of a wake after a funeral) the members of LCD Soundsystem wore black and white clothing – the only dress code for the Long Goodbye, and asked the audience members to observe the same sartorial decisions.

Shut up and Play the Hits will be screening on the 3rd June at 8pm, The Sydney Opera House: Concert Hall.
Tickets: $35
