Good news Led Zeppelin fans – there’s still a minuscule of hope for the band to do another one-off show sometime in the future. NME reports that the band’s surviving members – Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul – refused to rule out another reunion when speaking at a press conference in London overnight to launch their upcoming concert film.
Following a screening of the film, Celebration Day – which focuses on their 2007 show at London’s O2 Arena, the trio answered a series of questions from the assembled press.
When asked about the possibility of coming together again for more shows, they remained evasive.
When asked if the 02 show had excited them enough to regroup once more, Jimmy Page said: “Can I just ask you all if you enjoyed the film?”
When the journalist in question retorted by asking if he could have his question answered, Robert Plant replied, “That would be kiss and tell”.
The band also completely dodged a question regarding “how crazy” the amount of money was that was put on the table with regards to any future shows.
Celebration Day will be released five years after the 02 concert took place – which saw the band reunite to honour late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. The band were joined on stage that night by Jason – the son of their late drummer John Bonham. The three members praised him heavily for his performance.
Asked why it had taken so long for the concert to get an official release, bass player John Paul Jones joked: “Five years is five minutes in Zeppelin time!”
Celebration Day will be released on DVD on September 19 in standard and deluxe editions.
