With the posting of not one, but two cryptic images on their Facebook page in recent days, Led Zeppelin fans have been speculating non-stop about some imminent activity from the band.
And the crew over at FasterLouder are no exception to that – they’re starting to think the band could be reforming for some live shows.
One of those considered a possibility is the much-talked-about, but-nothing-announced-yet One Great Night On Earth concert, which has been slated for early December in regional Victoria.
The festival’s main organiser, Lyndel Moore, is working with the London booking agency that put together Led Zeppelin’s reunion show at London’s O2 Arena back in 2007. Most punters believe the reason behind cryptic images from the band is the imminent release of a CD/DVD package of that show…courtesy of tweets from guitarist Jimmy Page’s manager Peter Mensch.
However, given the information mentioned above, FasterLouder still reckon a live show could be a remote possibility:
“a live reunion from the band would fit in with the plans for the One Great Night On Earth festival. Project director Lyndel Moore told FL back in April that she was working with the London booking agency that put together the Led Zeppelin reunion at the O2 Arena in 2007. She promised that the festival lineup would feature some “amazing players” who haven’t been seen in Australia for many years. The festival’s social media team has posted several photos of Robert Plant and the band in recent weeks, but surely that was just innocent fandom, not a tease about the lineup, right?”
Music Feeds can confirm that Led Zeppelin definitely won’t be playing One Great Night On Earth – when/if the concert does happen. There’s been no official quote from the organisers, but our people have spoken to their people – and Led Zep are not part of the festival’s plans.
Until then, we’ll wait and see if we’re going to get another cryptic image on the band’s Facebook page, and for their big announcement, which surely isn’t too far away.
