With Donald Trump currently attacking his eligibility to run for President of the United states on the grounds that he was born in Calgary Canada, the last thing Ted Cruz needed was to be publicly outed as a Nickelback fan.
Unfortunately for the Texas Senator and Republican nominee for President hopeful, that’s just what has happened as one Iowa legend has been turning up to Cruz’s campaign appearances with a sign reading “Ted Cruz Likes Nickelback”.
While Cruz has yet to confirm the allegation, he is also yet to deny them, seemingly weighing up whether he should own up to crimes against music.

Speaking to the Washington Post, the man told reporters that “I just don’t want, really, a Canadian in office.
“It seems like he’s got a lot of controversy behind him whether he’s a U.S.-born citizen or not and I’m just out here making a statement.”
When asked about a possible connection between Cruz and Nickelback, the man responded simply with “they’re both Canadian”.
As for Nickelback themselves, they’re loving all the unexpected attention, the band even tweeting in support of the man’s actions.

Still, it could be worse for Cruz, at least he hasn’t publicly defended the band from criticism. Never forget.
Why are so many people down on Nickelback? Surely with Foo Fighters they are the closest modern rivals to AC/DC for sing a long rock!
