Lil Nas X And Tony Hawk Are ‘Blood Brothers’ In New Skate Tutorial Clip

Lil Nas X and Tony Hawk have risen above and squashed the calls for beef, instead opting to become ‘blood brothers’ in a collaborative skate tutorial video that’s totally not edited at all.

To rewind a little bit, back in March, Lil Nas X announced that he would be dropping a sneaker collaboration with clothing brand MSCHF. The “satan shoes”, which were a custom run of Nike Air Max 97’s, featured 60cc ink and a singular drop of human blood. Appropriately, the run was limited to 666 pairs, and it sold out almost immediately.

The sneaker copped flack from a range of political and religious figures, mostly from within the United States. Evangelical pastor Mike Burns described them in a tweet as “evil” and “heresy”.

Nike then sued the Brooklyn-based company that collaborated with Lil Nas X for the unauthorised use of their patented design, resulting in a recall of the shoes.

And now, just a few weeks back, Tony Hawk announced a skateboard collaboration with water company Liquid Death. The run of 100 boards were made using red paint that was mixed with a dash of Hawk’s blood, and sold out in under a minute.

Lil Nas X didn’t seem too happy about the lack of backlash Hawk received.

“Now that tony hawk has released skateboards with his blood painted on them, and there was no public outrage, are y’all ready to admit y’all were never actually upset over the blood in the shoes? and maybe u were mad for some other reason?,” Lil Nas X wrote on Twitter.

And now, fast forward a few weeks, the pair have met and put together a little skate tutorial, seemingly squashing any beef before it can even begin. We love to see it.
