Ladies and gentleman, a fiery nu metal feud has ignited.
Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has just unleashed a venomous spray against Staind frontman Aaron Lewis, thus forcing us all to recall that Staind, a band you probably haven’t thought about since they released that song ‘It’s Been Awhile’ back in 2001, still exist.
As many nu metal diehards will recall, Staind were actually discovered by Bizkit’s Fred Durst and signed to his Flip label imprint back in the day, while both Lewis and Borland also grew up in the US’s Florida panhandle. So basically, the pair have a fair bit in common.
But during a recent interview on the Talk Toomey Podcast, Borland wished “nothing but the worst” upon that “dickhead” from Staind.
“Aaron Lewis also came up to me in an airport randomly,” the loveable Bizkit kook recalled. “…I was visiting my parents in Jacksonville, and flying back to L.A.. And…I just happened to run into him and hadn’t seen him in awhile.
“He goes, ‘Where ya headed?’ And I went, ‘I’m going home.’ And he goes ‘Home?’ and I went, ‘Yeah I just visited my parents, I’m going back home to LA.’ And for the record I’ve lived in LA longer than any other city in my life. He goes… Aaron looks at me and he kind of turns his chin up and goes, ‘Nah man, remember where you came from, Florida is your home, not LA. That’s home.’”
“And I just went, ‘Fuck you man.’ And I never talked to him again after that.”
Borland then continued to vent his feelings about his fellow nu-metaller.
“That guy is such a dickhead,” he said. “So full of himself, such a dickhead, I wish nothing but the worst for him. Amen. I could not believe the audacity, and just like pretentiousness—especially for someone that acts like they’re like a country boy now and they’re from Illinois. Anyway, digusting person. No thanks, peace.
“…I don’t want be a shit talker. But I have no problem talking shit about that guy, he’s terrible.”
Damn. Maybe he was just having one of those days.
