After teasing us with word that a sidewave would be announced today, Soundwave have once again delivered the goods, announcing the official Linkin Park sidewave. Joining the gang for their sideshows will be none other than Stone Sour.
Now in their 12th year together, few bands have become the recording and touring force that Linkin Park have. Since their seminal release Hybrid Theory the band have maintained a steady flow of albums, keeping an ever-vigilant presence in the modern day music scene, constantly touring and also landing a sync or two on some blockbuster soundtracks. With their latest studio effort Living Things, the band have got back to their roots, picking their back catalogue to pieces and extracting what’s worked before, and taking it to the next level.
Joining Linkin Park will be Stone Sour. Fronted by the insightful sweetheart of metal, Corey Taylor, who brought his other fellow Slipknot bandmate Jim Root with him, Stone Sour were one of the first confirmed acts to appear at Soundwave, much to the delight of Aussie fans. They are currently hard at work on their soon-to-be-released album and comic book series.
Both bands are sure to be bringing their old-school anthems as well as some of their more modern tunage to the stage with them, though only two shows have been announced. I guessed ya’ll get in quick. Linkin Park AND Stone Sour: Christmas.
