Listen: Airbourne ‘Live It Up’ On Brand-New Track

New Jersey-via-Warrnambool band Airbourne has revealed the first taste of tunes from their forthcoming third album, Black Dog Barking, releasing first single Live It Up on YouTube.

Live It Up is the lead single from the record and starts off, as many of their songs do, in the vein of their idols AC/DC, specifically with drawn-out atmospheric guitar riffs reminiscent of the classic track (For Those About To Rock) We Salute You. The track then explodes around the 1m20s mark with some punchy rock riffs and a solid chorus with anthemic backing vocals later down the line.

When announcing the impending release of the album back in February, Airbourne revealed they worked through Christmas and New Year’s Eve to put the finishing touches on Black Dog Barking and ensure the album slays their not-so-great 2010 sophomore album No Guts, No Glory:

“A lot of thought and effort has gone into this record, not only by the band, but by the production crew who worked countless hours, seven days a week, even through Christmas and New Year’s Eve to achieve the best possible performances, backed by real undying tones.

“Now we’re handing it over to you…so crank it up, crack a beer and stick some rock n’ roll in your ear!”

The band will play several European festivals around the release of the album, including Download (UK), Sonisphere (France), Rock Am Ring (Germany) and Rock Werchter (Belgium). No news on any homecoming dates yet, so sit tight!

Black Dog Barking is due out 21st May.
