Ben Folds Five have unveiled two more new songs off their forthcoming album The Sound of the Life of the Mind.
Michael Prayter, Five Years Later (yes, that’s the song title) and Sky High are the latest cuts that will appear on the band’s first new album in 13 years, which is set for release on September 18.
Consequence of Sound reckon Michael Praytor, Five Years Later “displays the trio’s more comical, jazz-influenced side”. Meanwhile, they’ve described Sky High as “a methodical ballad with key strokes as airy as the song title”.

Ben Folds Five fans are up for a big end to the year – along with the new album, the band will also be hitting our shores in November as part of the Harvest Festival in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. No doubt they’ll be playing some of the new material at those shows.
And earlier this week, they showed some love for the West Coast of the country as well – announcing sideshows in Adelaide and Perth. Click here for the details on those.
