The Shouting Matches, side project of Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon, along with Megafaun‘s Phil Cook and Peter Wolf Crier‘s Brian Moen, are streaming their debut album Grownass Man online from today, ahead of their Coachella appearance next weekend.
The bluesy rock trio isn’t Vernon’s first foray into side-project land. In 2009 he joined forces with Collections Of Colonies Of Bees to release Unmap under the name Volcano Choir. The Shouting Matches are distinctly different to Vernon’s previous work, especially Bon Iver’s back catalogue – this is a much lighter and more playful sound, with more than a hint of Tom Petty.
