CEO, the project of former Swedish electronic music duo Tough Alliance member Eric Berglund, has dropped the tittle track from his forthcoming record, Wonderland, due out 7 February in Australia.
A noted fan of Kanye West, CEO made waves last year when he dropped a cover of West’s brooding track Hold My Liquor, that featured on the rapper’s Yeezus. The Swedish electro artist turned the tune on its angry head, accompanying the swelling synths by dreamily singing “I can’t handle no liquor, but these bitches can’t handle me.” Unfortunately the track won’t appear on the upcoming record.
In a similar vein, Wonderland conjures a fantasy realm of sonic samples that’s at once euphoric and supremely dark. Bergland has said people should listen to his music “in a state where your identity and intellect are on a well needed holiday” and perhaps it’s this new tune that will provide the perfect escape.
