Last week, Blink 182 went into KROQ to air a second track from their forthcoming return album, Built This Pool. This morning, the band have officially released the single confirming they still have it in them to go ‘Full-Blink’.
Not unlike Happy Holidays, You Bastard or Family Reunion, Built This Pool is more or less a complete piss take. Coming in at 15 seconds, there isn’t really a whole lot of scope for meaning or depth with this one, but all things considered, I think the boys deserve a cheeky moment of fun on what is sure to be a polarising album, California.
The track finishes with what we gather is a confused John Feldman calling out from behind the mixing board, “Is that really it?”
Built This Pool followed hot on the hells of the first warning shot off the album Bored To Death, where the band debuted their new vocalist Matt Skiba, oh he of Alkaline Trio fame. California drops Friday, July 1st.
