Just when you thought the Aussie alt-rock coast was clear, ex-Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning has dropped a short and sweet teaser video to promote his new solo single and album, the first new music we’ve heard from Fanning since Powderfinger disbanded in 2010.
Brisbane’s favourite son doesn’t give much away in the 20-second video, but the snippet features a heavier sound than Fanning’s last solo offering, 2005’s Tea & Sympathy, which featured the mammoth hit Wish You Well.
Fanning fans can also expect some heavier subject matter on the new album, with the singer previously stating that the record would touch on both the death of his father and the birth of his son. Powderfinger guitarist Darren Middleton also announced plans for a solo record last year.
The as-yet-unnamed single is set for release on 22nd April while the similarly untitled album will drop on 7th June.
