2020 was a landmark year for Woorabinda singer-songwriter Miiesha, and now she’s ready to keep the momentum going in 2021 with new single ‘Damaged’.
Marking the first bit of new music she’s released since her ARIA-Award winning debut album Nyaaringu, ‘Damaged’ is a change of sound for Miiesha, taking on a more 90s-inspired R&B sound than previous work.
It probably helps that her singular, evocative voice and powerful lyricism floats above production by LUCIANBLOMKAMP, who has worked with 6LACK and Khalid.
“‘Damaged’ is my most personal song yet, and the most painful for me,” Miiesha said in a press statement.
“It is a song about the broken relationship I have with my mother, and how much I have wanted it to heal, and how much I have tried to fix it, only to find myself hurting more.”
