Listen To St. Vincent Shred A Cover Of Metallica’s ‘Sad But True’

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Metallica‘s seminal record The Black Album, the band announced The Metallica Blacklist: a 53-song collection of covers by some of the biggest names in music.

Contributors to the anniversary release include Miley Cyrus, whose monstrous rendition of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ with Sir Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Metallica’s own Robert Trujillo came out last week.

Now, St. Vincent‘s shared her take on ‘Sad But True’ for the special release.

St. Vincent knows her way around the guitar, so in true fashion, her cover absolutely rips.

The Metallica Blacklist will be out digitally on Friday, 10th September and physically on Friday, 1st October.

The anniversary record will also feature contributions from Depeche Mode‘s Dave Gachan, Phoebe Bridgers, J Balvin, Weezer, Mac Demarco, Cage The Elephant, Kamasi Washington, and more.
