He’s been referenced in a few of her songs, but now worlds have truly collided as Lana Del Rey has written a new song for an upcoming documentary about Elvis Presley.
Del Rey posted a clip of the song, aptly called ‘Elvis’, on her Twitter that accompanied a clip of the documentary, which is titled The King and is directed by Eugene Jarecki.

NME reports that ‘Elvis’ is actually a 2008 demo of Del Rey’s when she was recording under a different name. She didn’t make her debut as Lana Del Rey until 2011 when she released the all-conquering ‘Video Games’.
This is the first ‘new’ music we’ve heard from Del Rey since the release of her 2017 album, Lust For Life, which saw her tour Australia for the first time in six years, where she actually previewed another new song, ‘Happiness Is A Butterfly.’
