London Grammar Return With ‘Baby It’s You’, Their First Single In Three Years

London Grammar are back, baby! After they teased the impending arrival of new music earlier this week, The English indie-pop trio have returned with new single ‘Baby It’s You’, their first new music from the band since they released second album Truth Is a Beautiful Thing three years ago.

Recorded with lauded producer George FitzGerald, the new track shimmers with the band’s signature brand of ethereal, melancholic electronica, with frontwoman Hannah Reid’s voice soaring above atmospheric synths and driving percussion.

After a fairly chaotic 2017 that saw the band release Truth Is a Beautiful Thing and tour extensively – including a performance down under at the Sydney Opera House – the band have kept relatively quiet, presumably plugging away at new music. Last year, the band made a brief return when Reid collaborated with Flume on his hit single ‘Let You Know’.

“Despite new inspirations and experiences, Truth Is A Beautiful Thing is a quintessential London Grammar record,” we wrote in our review of the band’s sophomore full-length upon its release. “The trio barely step out of their well-honed comfort zone for the second album, but the result is an incredibly polished and rich parade of the grandeur of sound they do best.”

The new track is hopefully the first taste of a forthcoming third album; more details on that as soon as we’ve got ’em.
