Looks Like My Bloody Valentine Are Releasing A New Album In 2018

Shoegaze icons My Bloody Valentine are preparing to release a new album in 2018, if a new bio about frontman Kevin Shields is to be believed.

MBV fans caught wind of the news after Shields was announced on the lineup for Sigur Rós’ upcoming music festival Norður og Niður earlier today, thanks to a short blurb about him which appears on the festival website.

According to Shields’ bio, he is currently “working on material for a new My Bloody Valentine album to be released in 2018”. If that’s indeed true, the album would be the follow-up to MBV’s self-titled 2013 comeback album, which was their first record in over 20 years.

The Norður og Niður website also states that Shields is working on new “all analog vinyl versions” of the band’s first two albums Isn’t Anything and Loveless.

Shields and MBV are yet to comment publicly on news of a new album.
