At The Drive-In Perform At Splendour In The Grass 2012

It Looks Like At The Drive-In Are Reuniting Again & Fans Are Freaking Out

It looks like At The Drive-In, post-hardcore’s gods amongst men, have announced their first show together in over three years, and some fans are losing their shit.

ATDI last performed live back in 2012, performing at festivals like Splendour In The Grass, Coachella and Lollapalooza, but have now been announced as part of Ohio’s 2016 Rock On The Range Festival, alongside the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch and Bring Me The Horizon.

Some ATDI fans are, of course, super pumped by the announcement, with one even go so far to say he’s no longer afraid of death. Which, we assume, is a positive reaction.

Interestingly, El Paso Times say they have spoken to former ATDI guitarist Jim Ward, who was reportedly surprised by the band’s announcement on the Rock The Range lineup.

Ward reportedly says he knew the band were listed on the festival’s lineup, but wouldn’t confirm or deny whether the band would actually be performing together at that time.

ATDI originally disbanded in March 2001, citing relentless touring, drug habits and artistic differences for the breakup. Since then, its members Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López formed The Mars Volta, which split in 2013 before the pair reunited as Antemasque and toured Australia as part of Soundwave 2015. Ward is currently the frontman of the band Sparta.

Rock The Range Festival is going down in Columbus, Ohio in May next year. Until then, relive an ATDI classic alongside shots of the band’s 2012 Splendour In The Grass set, below.
