Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Diplo has been getting pretty snarky about Taylor Swift on Twitter today, making snide comments about her lack of “booty”, and Lorde has seemingly had enough of it. She has jumped to Swift’s defence today, hitting back at the DJ and mocking his “tiny penis” in the process.
Diplo kicked things off when he tweeted earlier today that, “someone should make a kickstarter campaign to get Taylor Swift a booty”. Because the internet can be a terrible place his tweet resulted in an actual “Get Taylor Swift a Booty” campaign on Fundly, a page which has a total of 25 supporters and had raised a rousing $45.
Not yet content with his hand in all this, the DJ then tweeted out a link to the page. This was the final straw for Lorde, who hit back by unleashing the ultimate Twitter smack-down. “Should we do something about your tiny penis while we’re at it hm,” she responded directly to Diplo. The message has so far been retweeted over 8,000 times.
Interestingly the two have somewhat of a working relationship. Diplo has previously released remixes of Lorde’s Tennis Court and reportedly contributed to the Lorde-curated soundtrack for the upcoming film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, on a track with Ariana Grande and Major Lazer.
