No wave icon Lydia Lunch has announced a 2024 Australian tour. Lunch will perform at venues in Melbourne, Sydney, Castlemaine and Hobart in March of next year.
Lydia Lunch has a long association with Australia. Back in the nineties, she worked closely with Rowland S. Howard, he of The Birthday Party fame. Lunch and Howard released just one album together, 1991’s Shotgun Wedding, which features the single ‘Burning Skulls.’

Lunch is an icon in her own right. A key part of the New York no wave scene, she is a poet, actor, and self-empowerment speaker, who has collaborated with subversive French filmmaker Catherine Breillat and graphic novel artist Ted McKeever.
On the Australian tour, Lunch will be accompanied by Joseph Keckler. Keckler – who has never before played Australian shores – is an experimental artist who makes a hybrid of opera and noise rock. So, strap in for some fiery, strange, powerful shows.
