M-Phazes Joins Rapture 2014 Lineup

Eminem‘s highly-anticipated Rapture hip-hop tour will kick off next week at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium and organisers have now announced that award-winning Australian producer M-Phazes will join a lineup featuring Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Action Bronson, and 360, as the opening DJ.

“It was an awesome experience to support Eminem on his last Australian tour so to be invited back again and be joining such an incredible line-up of artists is a real honour,” said the Gold Coast-born Melbourne-bassed producer, who is currently working on his next LP in Los Angeles.

An Eminem-curated hip-hop tour named Rapture was long the subject of fan speculation, with some fans claiming they’d seen video previews of the concept during Eminem’s last Australian tour. The good news was finally confirmed back in October, with promotion handled by the Dainty Group.

Earlier this month it was announced that Kendrick Lamar will miss his appearance on the New Zealand leg of Rapture due to an “unavoidable scheduling conflict.” Controversial California group Odd Future have been drafted in to replace the Grammy Award-nominated rapper.

Meanwhile, Action Bronson, who unveiled his latest EP, Saab Stories, last year, was recruited after the initially billed Chance The Rapper cancelled his appearance on the tour. Bronson appeared on first-release tour posters but was not added to the official lineup till later.
