Machine Gun Kelly’s Been Cast As Tommy Lee In Mötley Crüe’s ‘The Dirt’ & Twitter Is Frothing Hard

Well THIS is interesting.

We already knew that Mötley Crüe‘s batshit crazy autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band was being developed into a new biopic for Netflix, and now we have a very tasty bit of casting news.

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly has confirmed that he’s been tapped to play The Animal himself, Mr. Tommy Lee, and he seems pretty stoked to get his feathered mop on and step into a pair of the lanky drum legend’s platform heels.

“Excuse me for being crass but….HOLY FUCKING SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!” Kelly posted on Twitter after the news was announced.

He also added that he’s enlisted the services of his little bro to teach him drums just for the role.

“WILL learn the drums and finish the new album before we start filming,” he promised fans.

We’re sure he’ll be busting out upsidedown solos on the crucifly coaster before he knows it.

Meanwhile, the news of MGK playing one of the world’s most notorious cock rockers has been met with widespread frothage on the interwebs:

Machine Gun Kelly, real name Colson Baker, isn’t new to the acting game either. ICYMI: he got a tonne of praise for his series regular role as Wes on Showtime’s Roadies.

According to IMDb, English actor Douglas Booth from the dank 2016 B-grader Pride & Prejudice & Zombies has also been cast as two-time-death-defying bass slapper Nikki Sixx in The Dirt flick, but there’s no word yet on who’ll be playing frontman Vince Neil or guitarist Mick Mars.

Meanwhile, Lee has taken to twitter himself to confirm that pre-production on the movie has officially begun, with shooting due to start in February (guess that means we’ll be getting the aforementioned new MGK album pretty soon then!)

This thing has been kicking around for a decade with almost zero progress, so the news that it’s finally actually legitimately happening is pretty damn exciting.

Knock ’em dead, kids.
