Man Charged Over Murder Of Angry Anderson’s Son, Liam

A man has been charged with the murder of Liam Anderson, the son of Australian rocker and Rose Tattoo singer Gary ‘Angry’ Anderson.

26-year-old Liam Anderson — an aspiring rapper who performed under the name Ranford Bigsby — died after an alleged assault in Queenscliff on Sydney’s Northern Beaches on Sunday morning.

20-year-old Narraweena man Matthew Flame has now been charged with his murder, and has been refused bail. He is due to appear at Manly Local Court later today, Monday, 5th November.

Police found Anderson unconscious at the scene and suffering serious head injuries on the weekend. He was treated at the scene, but died a short time later after being airlifted to hospital.

Police believe Anderson and Flame knew each other. They are also urging anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.

The ABC reports that a family friend of Matthew Flame said the men were best friends, and both of their families have been “left heartbroken by the news”.

The ABC said it “understands the men had returned to the northern beaches from a party in the city before they started fighting”.

Meanwhile, Angry Anderson flew home to Sydney from Perth overnight, where he had been performing.

In a statement released yesterday, Angry Anderson’s family said:

“With the matter in the hands of NSW Police, the family will not be making any comment at this stage, nor are we as Anderson’s management in a position to offer any comment on their behalf.”
