Canadian-American singer/songwriter Martha Wainwright will be bringing her unique brand of folk-pop back to Australia to promote her latest album, 2012’s Come Home To Mama, playing dates across the country in May and June.
Come Home To Mama was produced by Yuka C. Honda of Cibo Matto and features some even darker and more passionate material from Wainwright, no shrinking violet to begin with, written following the death of her mother and birth of her first child. It follows her 2009 live tribute album to Edith Piaf, Sans Fusils, Ni Souliers, à Paris.
Her performance at the Concert Hall at Sydney Opera House on 6th June will be the latest show in the Music At The House program that also includes performances by The Drones, Wilco, Sarah Blasko, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Tickets for most shows are on sale now, with the Music At The House event going on sale this Friday, 12th April.
