Matt Corby was forced to cancel the second of his three sold out shows at The Enmore Theatre in Sydney last night. The singer is currently in the middle of a tour in support of his latest album, Telluric.
Just a few minutes before he was due on stage, Corby’s manager broke the news to the audience. Corby’s support act Vera Blue had already played her full set when the news was announced.
Corby’s Facebook displayed an apology shortly after the fact, outlining that the singer had unfortunately fallen ill and “despite his very best efforts, (he) was unable to perform”. The post went on to reassure fans that the show would be rescheduled for the May 4th, and that “those of you who can’t make that date will receive a free refund.”
Corby is still scheduled to play this evening. Stay tuned for any further announcements.
UPDATE 13/04/16, 3.53pm: Matt Corby has cancelled tonight’s Sydney show at the same venue.
