Max & Iggor Cavalera, the founders of Brazilian metal band Sepultura, have announced an Australian tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their classic album Roots.
The pair will perform the album in full during five dates as part of their world tour which has seen them take the record around the globe once again.
Regarded as one of the seminal heavy metal records, it was the last album that Max Cavalera recorded with Sepultura before leaving. Iggor, on the other hand, spent another decade in the band before leaving.
“Metalheads. It’s time,” Max said in a statement.
Twenty years ago, we released the Roots album and changed the face of metal forever. Now, we’re returning to ‘The Roots’ to show everybody the magic and inspiration of the Roots live experience!”
Iggor added that, after 20 years, he’s excited to show that, “it still moves people.”
They will be supported by Welsh metal band Skindred who are known for having one of the raucous, powerful live shows in the world.
