Pop punk’s finest Mayday Parade, The Story So Far and Real Friends have announced that they will be detouring from their Soundwave Festival 2014 duties to embark on just two Sidewaves, hitting Sydney and – coming as some relief to our northern kin – Brisbane,
Alumni of the Soundwave spectacle, Mayday Parade are guaranteed to be in fighting form for the headlining gig, bringing with them their latest full-length offering Monsters In The Closet. Exploring nooks and crannies previously uncharted within the genre, the record is yet to be aired Down Under, adding all the more excitement to the announcement.
Fast earning the title of one of pop punks greatest assets, The Story So Far are a key pulling factor for Sidewaves and the festival alike, with a worthy cache of intelligent and well considered sounds, The Story So Far is certainly a set you’ll literally kick yourself for missing.
Capping off the bill are Chicago pop punk figures Real Friends, popping their Australian cherries come February. With their latest EP Put Yourself Back Together still hot off the press, this is one debut worthy of the hype.
Tickets are available from Tuesday, February 4th at 9am.
