Megan Thee Stallion Says She Was Shot Multiple Times Over The Weekend

Megan Thee Stallion has taken to social media to reveal that she was shot several times over the weekend, and underwent surgery to remove the bullets.

On Instagram, Megan posted a statement wanting to ‘set the record straight’ around reporting of what happened on Sunday morning.

“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” Megan wrote.

“I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets. I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night. I’m currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that rapper Tory Lanez was arrested for concealing a weapon in his vehicle. It was also reported that Megan, and an unidentified women, were in the same vehicle.

In a separate comment, Megan confirmed she was never arrested and detailed how the experience impacted her.

“This whole experience was an eye opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy.”

Earlier this year, Megan helped make history topping the US charts with her track ‘Savage (Remix)’ with Beyoncé, marking the second time in 2020 that a female rapper hit the #1 spot – following Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj for ‘Say So (Remix)’.
