Mel C has told us what we want, what we really really want, hinting at a potential Spice Girls reunion trip to Australia. During her recent DJ set at Sydney’s Heaps Gay Harbour Party, Sporty Spice dropped the platform-heeled bombshell that she’ll be seeing us again really soon and “may have some friends with me.”
During a backstage interview after her set, she reiterated the teaser, saying: “I just can’t wait to come back. And as I said on stage… keen to bring the others with me.”
“Did [Mel C] secretly announce Spice Girls will be playing heaps gay’s next party?” wrote Sydney’s rainbow party starters on Instagram with the video, adding fuel to the fire.
After reuniting back in 2019, Spice Girls (minus Victoria Beckham) were supposed to be touring Australia in February 2020, before Geri AKA Ginger Spice reportedly pulled the plug. The iconic pop group were then rumoured to be visiting us in 2021 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut single ‘Wannabe’, but no dates ever materialised.
Hopefully 2024 is the year they finally ~say they’ll be there~.
