Melbourne Music Week (MMW) has revealed its full program for 2015, adding the likes of Aussie rockers DZ Deathrays, the ever-experimental PVT, New Zealand singer-songwriter Liam Finn and local producer Banoffee to its lineup.
MMW’s flagship venue, the former Royal Women’s Hospital, is set to host shows from newly-announced acts like Public Opinion Six, Dr. Drunks, Danish dance duo Kenton Slash Demon and Canada’s Cobblestone Jazz.
Live Music Safari is also returning to MMW 2015, with over 50 local artists to perform at 14 Melbourne venues. Among them are acts like Mesa Cosa, Oddisee, Quarter Street, Terrible Truths, Sleep D and Dan White.
MMW is also set to host an all-female lineup at its Interwoven interactive sculpture installation and will host a two-stage party at Old Melbourne Gaol.
Other acts which have been announced for MMW 2015 include Rat & Co DJs, Edd Fisher, Jim Lawrie, Ella Thompson, Woodes, The Foreign Brothers, Mz Rizk and CC:Disco. These artists join previously announced MMW 2015 acts like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Robert Henke (aka Monolake) and Gypsy & The Cat.
Now in its sixth year, MMW has locked in over 100 events for eight days and nights this November, packing international acts and a stack of local musos. Aside from the tunes, this year’s program also includes a number of industry events, exhibitions, film screenings, workshops and panel discussions.
