Members Of The Drones & High Tension Form New Band Tropical Fuck Storm

There’s a new band in our midst, and they’re known as Tropical Fuck Storm (or TFS for short).

The group — consisting of The Drones‘ Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin, High Tension‘s Lauren Hammel and Harmony/Palm Springs’ Erica Dunn — haven’t released any material just yet, but when they do it’s sure to be a pretty raucous affair.

A statement from the band includes the following quotes, just so you know that they’re taking their new project seriously:

“It is the lark that sings so out of tune, straining harsh discords and unpleasing sharps.” ~ William Shakespeare

“We have a choice… to live or to exist.” ~ Harry Styles

TFS will be releasing their debut material in the second half of 2017, initially as a series of limited edition 7-inch vinyls. They’re set to make their live debut in the US this September and October supporting Band Of Horses and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and have also signed with Aussie booking agency Village Sounds.

Until we get to wrap our ears around their output, catch a cut from The Drones’ latest album Feelin Kinda Free, below.
