Periphery‘s Spencer Sotelo and Matt Halpern have joined forces with Taylor Larson, formerly of Skrillex’s band From First To Last, to record an emotional cover of Linkin Park‘s ‘Shadow Of The Day’ in honour of their fallen hero Chester Bennington.
The world is still reeling from the shock news of the 41-year-old frontman’s tragic death just days ago, which has since been confirmed as a suicide (despite a hoax news story doing the rounds suggesting police are investigating a homicide lead).
“Tracking this LP cover today was one of the most emotional things I’ve ever done in the studio. Surreal for sure,” Sotelo tweeted.

“Very emotional experience,” he added. “Rest In Peace, Chester Bennington.”
It follows other live tributes to Chester from his other peers in the rock community including Corey Taylor and Korn.
