The Meredith Music Festival 2013 lineup is here and it’s their most jam-packed and blistering lineup yet. After revealing early additions, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers as well as The Melvins, we now have Brian Jonestown Massacre, Deerhunter, Derrick May, Spiderbait, Beasts Of Bourbon and more to look forward to!
The organisers recently confirmed disco legends Chic as headliners, featuring the inimitable Nile Rodgers who’s hot off the momentum of his collaboration with Daft Punk on their fourth studio album Random Access Memories, and the chart-topping hit single Get Lucky, and locking in equally legendary grunge progenitors The Melvins, who’ll be bringing their patented brand of sludge-rock to Meredith 23.
Taking their rightful place in the remaining headlining spots are neo-psychedelic icons The Brian Jonestown Massacre and garage space-rockers Deerhunter. The father of techno Derrick May will be bringing his elite DJ chops to the fest, and revellers will also get to see Down Under’s own Spiderbait, the whiskey-soaked stylings of Tex Perkins‘ Beasts of Bourbon, New York’s Joey Bada$$ hot off the release of his critically acclaimed mixtape Summer Knights and a slew of other hot supporting acts, including The Bamboos and EDM virtuoso Jon Hopkins.
Taking place over 13th, 14th and 15th December, one of Australia’s most eminent alternative music festivals is ready to give punters a unique three days filled with acts they won’t see anywhere else. Taking place in the magnificent Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre, situated on the edge of a farm near the town of Meredith in the shire of Golden Plains, Victoria, 500 fewer punters means that revellers this year will be assured an excellent vantage point to see all the acts Meredith has to offer. Meredith is still proudly BYO, with no commercial sponsors and a very strict “No Dickheads” policy.
Tickets are priced at $309 + $10 booking + $7 post, with all camping and parking included. The tickets are only available via ballot which is quick, easy, and free to enter via the Official Meredith Website. There are two ballot draws, the first available only to existing subscribers and the second round open to new as well as existing subscribers. Subscribers who are unsuccessful in the first round are automatically entered into the second round ballot.
